Instead
of giving your wedding guests traditional sugar almonds , a great wedding
favour idea is to give them a 5cl alcohol miniature with your own personalised
label as a gift and special memento of your wedding day. Choose from the standard
designs or you can have on
the custom design label a graphic of your choice, you could for example
have a picture of where
you are getting married, your zodiac signs, your family name crest, or Scottish clan crest,
your own photograph , or you

personalise the bottle label in any way you like - your own novel ideas for
the design are welcome
! You can even have a caricature drawing
made from your own photographs, with your own theme, and this can then be used on your labels

from the booking form, or
you can make up your own message then add the bride and groom's names and date
of wedding. If you have a theme to your wedding,
for example a design that is used on all your invitations and place cards, then
your custom label can be designed to match in with your theme. Special design
work for your personalised labels is free of charge for orders over 30.
A printed sample label will always be sent to you for approval
before proceeding with production of your alcohol miniatures. These gifts are suitable for both male and
female guests, the male guests usually preferring Scottish whisky miniatures, and
the female guests preferring vodka or brandy ( though most guests don't drink
them as they want to keep them ! ). This is one of the most popular male
wedding favours, as it is very difficult to find suitable gifts at reasonable prices

A BRIEF HISTORY

When you give your guests a wedding favour, you are continuing a tradition that dates back many centuries. |
Originally, they were only given out by the upper classes. The custom was especially common among the French and Italian aristocracy. |

They were not only given out at weddings, but also at other celebrations. |
The original wedding favours consisted of 5 sugar almonds representing fertility, health, wealth, happiness, and longevity. |

The giving of these gifts represented the bride and groom sharing their luck with their guests. |
A bonbonniere ( the original name for these gifts) was actually a box made of porcelain, crystal, precious stones or metal. with fine delicacies made of sugar inside. |

In the early 1990's, when I first had the idea of personalised labels for alcohol minatures, the border of the label was pre-printed in gold or silver, and your own text message was printed in black using a laser printer. |

At that time, it was not possible to economically produce colour printing for the small amount of labels required for a wedding, but the novel idea caught on. |
Wedding guests all over the UK were delighted at being given this novel gift. Many of the original miniature bottles are still kept as a memento of the special day. |

As technology advanced, it become possible to produce full colour labels in small quantities . It also became possible to scan your own photographs or pictures and include this on the label. |
